Yes, you need the adapter. The female threads on the brewtus' wand don't match 
the adapter exactly, but the adapter will rearrange them slightly and they will 
then work fine for the adapter and still for the original thread pitch of 
brewtus tips. 

Where are you located?  If you would like, you can borrow my collection of 
tips/adapter/old wand and see what you like (except the foam knife), but only 
if you promise to send them back. Ping me privately.
