I run it on a timer that turns on at 6am and off at 10am and usually make
2-3 shots a day. I drink Espresso exclusively so I don't use the steam wand
or hot water tap very often. I back flush and PF wiggle every day i use it
and I clean the group-head with a brush about once a week. Once a month I
disassemble the group-head and clean everything in Caffiza. The tap water
here in CA is pretty soft so I only use a carbon filter for flavor. I have
never descaled it. I removed the original filter long ago and added a
little stainless steel weight to keep the supply line at the bottom of the
reservoir. It just keeps chugging along.

I have had to replace the external timer twice and I've put 6 group-head
gaskets on it.

I've been expecting some kind of mechanical failure for the last couple of
years and am planning a PID and Rotary pump upgrade when it happens but so
far it's been unnecessary.
