Good thinking Ben. But I think only one element wire is switched through‎ the pstat? Therefore there is power to one, side of the element and that can then short to earth no matter what the pstat is doing. Does that sound right? Graeme From: StevieG. Hi Ben - It pops the GFI with everything cold, and only when brew was connected and steam disconnected, but not the other way around.  With the steam boiler normally wired and the brew boiler not connected, everything functions.
