With the machine COLD, you can crack the water line loose on the bottom of the boiler. (Hang the corner of the machine over the sink and it will drain out the corner of the bottom stainless plate). Or, you can remove the mushroom on top of the group and the nut inside, then invert the machine and it will drain there. Second method it a bit awkward.
