Hello Richard, I share Ira's point of view that the Brewtus can be brought back to like new, mine, a IV, will be 10 years next January. I work from home most of the week so it is always on and I prepare about 6-10 espresso per day; in all these years I just replaced once the Ulka vibration pump (upgrading to a Fluid-o-tech with a little mod) and one portafilter. I had it professionally serviced once to descale it and replace a faulty manometer (it required soldering) and I re-build the group once mainly because the cams not because of the seals.
It seems that Cream International (that owns Expobar) presented this year at the Host exhibition in Milan a replacement of the Brewtus/Leva called Crem One (so dropping Expobar brand), the top model has rotary pump, pressure profile, dual boiler, etc, I have seen it on sale but out of stock on a well know UK reseller for GBP 2,460.00. You can see a video of the machine here https://youtu.be/ckbDQfJ_J8E Now, in my case, I am impressed by the presentation at Host 2019 of the prototype of the Carimali, boilerless, induction coffee machine which seems saves 90% of energy. As far as I read it will be on the market in 18 months, my Brewtus I think can last with few maitenance enought to see if boilerless induction machine will work properly and be available on the prosumer market, I have to say that on the environmental point of view I feel a bit guilty about the amount of energy my coffe machine use.
