Those fittings need to be correctly aligned. Teflon tape has no use for a fitting like that. if it is not correctly aligned or if one of the mating surfaces is damaged, there is almost nothing you can do to get it to seal. A very thin Teflon washer between the mating surfaces can solve the problem, but I don't know where you'd find such a thing. Often loosening everything and then tightening everything a bit at a time so all the fittings properly align can help.
