Hi there, Josh,

I believe the PID you have is the same one I would’ve received years ago and have now on another machine also. Sort of a silver color with two buttons on either side of the display. If that is the case, the main thing that comes to mind is that perhaps you have programmed the Brew boiler with the steam boiler’s temperature by mistake. I would double check that as a starting point. If a sensor was bad, you would think that the PID would shut it off when it reached the set point even if the sensor said you weren’t there yet.
As mentioned elsewhere, you can find detailed instructions on these online. Whole Latte Love even has an entire video dedicated to programming the PID.
Keep us posted, curious to know what you find.

Suggest doing a google search on the part number, the manufacturer will surely have instructions on their website.  Pretty sure you’ll find the answer to your issue.

Thanks! I bought it as a straight replacement part and it didn't come with any instructions.

If I remember correctly, those controllers are factory set to behave differently based on use. Read the instructions and see if there is any indication. For example, the same controller is used for refrigeration and may be set at the factory for that use.

You can set the controller for different uses through the display, similar to setting the temp. The instructions should offer some clues.

Good luck!

Hello, I have a Brewtus III with a Rotary pump, Brew Boiler Stopped heating up and I diagnosed the original PID was bad. Replaced the PID and turned it on. Set the new PID to 195 and waited till it heated up. It got to 195 and just kept on going, I shut it off when it hit 220. Waited a couple hours and turned it back on and it did the same thing.

Any help would be appreciated!
