I am trying to install brctl package on iPAQ which has intimate installed on it. I downloaded the src code from http://bridge.sourceforge.net/ ie bridge-utils-0.9.6.tar.gz and compiled every thing got compiled nicely but now when I try >brctl addbr pan0

I get this error. ( After untaring src code I did ./configure, make , make install)
I understand that my iPAQ doesnt has bridge module . I dont want to recompile the kernel with 802.1d Ethernet Briding option. Are there anyother options ??
