Sorry Doug, that's just not the case......

Looking at the replay, it is very clear that Wycheck's feet at the time of
the pass are behind the 30 yard line, and that Dyson catches the pass just
ahead of the 30 yard line.   Thus, the argument that it is a legal lateral
resides on the supposition that Wychek "sidearmed" the football, thus
making the point of release of the football some point just ahead of the 30
yard line.   If you try this at home, however, you will discover that no
matter how you throw a football - even "sidearmed" - the point of release
is *always* on a plane with one's shoulder and feet.   Therfore, the
lateral was indeed forward, and illegal.
