The reason I was so sure of this was that I had just finished watching a study
of the play where they pinpointed where the ball was released and where it was
caught and it was pretty clear from the replay that it was a legal lateral.
This was on ESPN I believe. They showed the replay over and over again, drew
lines, etc. etc.
