I do not like twisting people's words by cutting them off midsentence. The
context here is totally blown by cutting off the end of that sentence. Like
someone saying, "Sure, I'll give you a million dollars... when pigs fly."
Cut off the end of that sentence and the meaning changes entirely. You do
yourself no favors in doing this as this only earns you enemies. Reminds me
much of the Brin incident... I highly recommend you stop twisting words and
start quoting whole sentences in the future.
I was discussing policy in that paragraph. The policy of the Republican and
Democratic parties (which people would have seen had you not snipped the last
line midsentence). If you consider that an attack on you, you need only do
something significant to benefit the environment to counter it. If you
really don't give a damn about the environment or the future, then hey, no
attack there, just a statement of fact. It wasn't meant as a personal
attack, but I dare say your comment about *all* greens being "lunatics" was.
I take a high level of offense at that, and I think I am showing incredible
restraint in consideration of that... us lunatics usually do something much
more drastic than just speek a little harshly. I remember someone on list
comparing me to the Unabomber a few years back... that is a lunatic. I'm
just a citizen who is sick and tired of watching government and industry walk
all over the environment. I show my detest for those by voting for Nader,
not by commiting illegal acts as the *small* *minority* of environmentalists
sometimes do. But NO, since these "lunatics" get the most publicity, every
right-winged person in the nation thinks all strong-willed environmentalists
are like that. I'm a little surprised anyone on this list would not just be
so close-minded as to believe such stereotypes, but also be so arrogant as to
promote them.
