<< 1) What is the East End and why is some pub there important?>>

EastEnders is one of the most popular shows on British TV, and a lot of
scenes take place in the pub. EastEnders is also a bit of a cult show in the
USA, first on PBS, now on BBC America.

This question is kind of like asking, what is the Cafe Nervosa? *

<<2) What the hell is the Euro 2000 final?>>

The European soccer championship final game earlier this year, won by France
over Italy. Unimportant in the USA (except, of course, to soccer fans here),
but really big news across Europe (and, in fact, much of the rest of the
world. The European soccer championship is the second biggest international
tournament after the World Cup.)

<<3) Who is: Lara Croft, Eminem, or Anthea Turner? Why are they important? >>

Lara Croft is a character in a video game. Eminem is a notorious, dreadful
American rap star.

I myself have no idea who Anthea Turner is.>>

<<Why should I care?>>

Well, you shouldn't, if you don't want to. It's just a stupid quiz. I think
they threw in a mixture of popular and obscure questions to see where the
target audience's knowledge lay.
