My guess is that they threw those questions in about the pub, Euro 2000,
Lara Croft and Eminem to demonstrate that young people know more about pop
culture figures than about anyone important.  If you look at the percentage
comparisons, you'll see that while some 80% to 90% of 18-24 year olds didn't
know the answers about Shakespeare and Milton, that same percentage *did*
know about the pub, the computer-animated heroine, and the American rapper.

They were trying to make a point about what's important to today's youth,
I'd say.
