As a member from the not-so-great state of Missouri, I'm proud to say, I
voted for the dead guy! In fact, a couple of days after Gov. Carnahan died,
I told my wife that I wanted to create a bumper sticker that said "Vote for
the dead guy!". But she said that it was in bad taste. Oh well...
In all seriousness, this was my first experience in losing a high ranking
political figure. And it really shook up my wife and I. We worked a bit on
Carnahan's campaign in 1992 when he was first elected governor. Would have
loved to work on this campaign but just couldn't find the time with 2 small
children.
I guess my vote was less a vote "for the dead guy" then against the "live
guy".
(I wonder what will happen if the GOP contests this election as they are
threatening...)
