Look, if we're going to use football to determine this:

Since the Redskins became Washington's football team, the last home game
before a presidential election has accurately predicted all elections
before now.  When they have won the home game, the incumbent party has won
the election, whereas when they have lost the home game, the other party
has won.  Since the Redskins lost their last home game before the
election, the football divination (which has been accurate in 15 out of 15
cases before now) indicates that Bush should be the winner.

I don't think this suggestion is any less outrageous than yours, Gautam.
