Read The Bridge, as it's not Culture. Not even IMB, for that matter, it's
IB... ;o) Great novel.
Then read Feersum Endjinn, if you like (also not Culture).. But get hold of
and read The Player Of Games and Use Of Weapons before embarking on
Excession. You'll find Excession a helluva lot easier if you have a better
understanding of the Culture.
Just my opinion, of course.
