Because I like to think about what possibilities and challenges may like in
the future.

And just to clarify, I don't read Horror.

The "sense of wonder."  I like to go "Wow", when I read my sci-fi.

Glory Season.   I like the female-male ratio.  ;-)

More seriously, I would probably choose the Uplift Universe.   In that
universe, humanity is faced with a lot of serious challenges that are
nearly insurmountable.   I'd like the chance to face those challenges.
Plus, what a wonderful and exciting universe it is!

My second choice would likely by the universe of Foundation, before the
Gaia thing occurs, since I think of psychohistory as the logical extension
of economics.

Any of the Distopias.   Farenheit 451 comes to mind.

Outside of that, I would also say the world of "Heart of the Comet."   I'm
not into the merger of humans with little creepy-crawlies.
