if memory serves (been watching too much Iron Chef ;-)) the Southern
general was based on the Old Miss mascot (an interview with Jay Ward i read
some time ago). other funny stuff from that storyline:
- Boris Badanov steals the football team's playbook and substitutes a book
containing the battle plans for Civil War battles and both football teams
end up dressed in Civil War uniforms re-fighting the entire war (yeah,
yeah, War Between the States);
- a group of students decides to go to the Student Union and picket Norman
Mailer;
- the university officials decide to fire all the teachers and use the
money to field the football team (the dialogue is pretty funny).
there's a lot to catch in Rocky and Bullwinkle, every time i watch it i
find something i missed before.
