I did that with "Red Mars" not so long ago. Everyone once in a while I
take it out and reread the first two hundred pages, then I get sidetracked
and it goes back on the shelf.

Now there's a thought! Let's start a thread about what Brin-Lers are
reading!
Right now I've got a bunch of books backed up because I was sick for a
month and didn't have the energy to finish anything.
There's "Gateway" by Pohl, "Nothingness: the science of empty space," by
Henning Genz, "The elegant universe," by Brian Greene, "Under the Net," by
Iris Murdoch, and "The Naked God, Part 1: Flight" by Peter F. Hamilton.
"Naked God" is GREAT so far! Lots of fun.
"Gateway" really surprised me. It's a wonderful novel, very insighful and
sad. Now that's it's almost done I really want to read the other two books
in the Heechee trilogy.

Good grief, that must have been a terrible scene! And Robinson is such a
fine writer....
