OK, Executive Orders is fab. I rate it highly. The models he used for the
attack on the States are spot on. I don't think Clancy handles Ryan as well
in political life as he used to in intelligence life, but maybe that's on
purpose and designed to show how well he copes when the proverbial brown
stuff hits the other proverbial spinning thing. It's a worthy follow-up to
Debt Of Honour too (and didn't *that* end well??? <grin>)

Rainbow Six follows EO, and isn't as good. However, it heavily features
Clark and Chavez, who I like, and has so great tactical stuff going on. Like
Without Remorse, though, I regard it as a bit of an aside to the main plots
of the Clancy Universe.

TBATD is BIG. Like, it's uncomfortable to read it in the bath. (I have a
hard-back copy... which cost £7.99 from those lovely Amazon people...). I'm
about 3/4 through, and in typical Clancy style, it's spent a long time
setting up the dominoes, and the *real* fun is just about to start. I do
love the espionage business and the intelligence gathering parts of the
books, but, let's face it, high tech weaponry and stealth bomber attacks are
just so cool... <grin> (That's not a spoiler, I have no idea what's going to
happen in TBATD...)

Fun fun. I read Flowers For Algernon last month. Excellent.
