At least your boss has a reasonable car to lend you for the purpose.
At one point, the most suitable vehicle owned by my husband and his
business partners for taking out-of-town guests anywhere was MY car.
This grew to be annoying -- I had to spend time on a regular basis making
the car presentable enough for visitors in suits to be riding in it, and
there were a few times I had to hurry the car home on a Friday after
classes (I was in college for 1 more year after I got married) instead of
taking a couple of friends to the hobby shop to look at D&D stuff, as I
might have preferred; and the ultimate insult was having my car taken
WITHOUT ME to the best barbecue place within 45 minutes of our house.
And the person who insisted that this nicer car be used? He and his wife
each had a cute little 2-seater -- totally worthless if you had 2 visitors
needing to be taken somewhere. :P At least your boss owns a vehicle that
he thinks is suitable for the purpose, instead of depending on someone
else's ownership of a suitable vehicle. And the little 2-seaters were
partly for image, but it's not the right image if it gets in the way of
functionality, as they did. (Don't get me started on airport runs....)
