Thanks y'all.  I actually did a web search before asking about this, but
all I found were endless pages riffing on the gag without explaining the
origin of the gag itself.  Guess it's my fault for never having owned a
game console.  Well, except for that Radio Shack "Pong" style game back 
in the late 70's....

But that's Ok <sticks nose in the air> 'cause I'm a PC game snob anyway!
