I had that happen on the laptop I use at school. Having the same problem
you do (it belongs to the school and is used by other people), I took the
same lack of action you did. Of course, I may eventually run into the same
problem with this new box (750MHz Athlon with Win 98 -- though before I'm
done I plan for it to have the options of Win 95 (to clone my old system)
and Linux, also) I have at home, in which case I will probably be motivated
to find a solution.
BTW, Windoze just informed me that it has helpfully updated my clock to
reflect the fact that Daylight Savings Time has just started. Somewhat
appropriate that it falls on April Fool's Day, no?
