Dear folks,

Interesting, but could I jump in here and ask if you could make something
clear for me?

When you said two constitutional democracies can't fight a war against each
other are you saying constitutional democracies can't start wars? Or that
the way they both run or treat others makes war between them hard to start?

In US history we have invaded Mexico and had a war with Spain, both of which
were started by us. You can blame the newspapers or war hawks, but didn't
the US declare war on both nations first for Imperialist reasons?

To be honest, it might be I don't understand what you are trying to get at?

Also, to be honest, the US and most of those nations listed as democracies
are not what we would call true democracies, like the Ancient Greek
City-states, but that is just me nit-picking. As I think the US, like early
Rome, as a Republic, I don't see us being too peace loving. Not that we are
hawks. More like owls? Let us sleep and we're OK, but wake us up and we get
damn grumpie-rumpie*.

Just my two cents.
