Oh, one more note -- the fact that, depending on which website you read the 
quote on, the source is variously cited as a letter to the magazine, a letter 
to Sen. Howard Metzenbaum (often with his name misspelled, too), or a speech 
to the AARP "sometime in 1999", ought to tell you something.
