I haven't knocked 'em, if you know what I mean.

Actually, the fascination with bladed things comes from kung-fu movies,
and the whips part comes from the Indiana Jones movies.  There was a time
around the 6th or 7th grade where I could do that thing with a bullwhip
where you lash it around a tree branch and then swing on it or climb on
up.
