There's about 5 or 6 regional variations within London and near surrounds,
Cockney being but one. The clearest is Sarf Lahndan versus North London,
innit... :o)

Even Ringo had not what we'd call a typical Scouse accent (listen to Steve
McManaman, the Real Madrid footballer...), although that may be down to the
accent changing over time.

Just watch "Twin Towns"... or listen to any interview with Cerys from
Catatonia...
The other major regional variations Brett missed are Brum (Birmingham and
surrounds), Fens (East Anglia, Suffolk...) and Geordie
(Newcastle/Sunderland/Middlesbrough (but again, there's variation across the
three cities).
