Nice conspiracy theory.   Do you know who was on the grassy knoll too?

What you are basically arguing is that there was a Republican conspiracy to
first impeach Clinton and *then* acquit him, right?    Because if they
actually convicted him, they'd be shooting themselves in the foot, right?   

Do you have any evidence whatsoever for this?

Do you have any suggestion that those Republicans that supported
impeachment, also supported acquittal?

How do you explain the fact that the Republican votes for acquital came
mostly from moderates who never supported impeachment in the first place?

I'm sorry, but to prove the case of partisanship, you need to prove that
the Party was acting in such a way as to improve the political advantage of
the Party.    Thus far, you haven't presented anything more than wild
speculation that is completely unsupported by any sort of evidence.
