It would. I have 100 panels, each capable of generating 30 kWh. That makes
the total capacity 100 x 30 = 3,000 kWh. Now, whether I install one panel
on each of 100 houses, or all panels on the roof of one building, the total
capacity remains the same.
Yet, it would be cheaper (installation-cost-wise) to put all panels
together on one roof than install the panels on 100 individual roofs. Since
the capacity remains the same, the installation cost per Watt is lower.
Note: installation here means "the act of installing", not "the
panels/cables etc.".
