1)  John has already bought her lunch.  She lives in DC, I was visiting
her, I arranged to have lunch with John on one of the days she was taking
off, and he insisted on paying, using an economic argument.  (I thought it
was cute in a nerd/geek way, and was glad to have met someone who would
make such a case for paying for lunch.)

2)  She *is* seeing someone, and I haven't seen her quite this serious
about anyone for a few years.  (He's an old friend from college.)
