Given that I seem to have become the poster-boy for raised gas taxes, I
suppose that I should just briefly clarify what my actual position is.
Increased gas taxes is the sort of environmental policy that I *could*
support, particularly in the case of the present-day United States.
My sincerest preference, however, is for fully marketable carbon credits,
which gives one the right to emit CO2 (and other gases) into the
publicly-owned atmosphere. Everything else would sort of be a derivitive
of that.
