I'm afraid that was one of the things I was curious about also.  My original
e-mail was asking for the context of the quote as well.  Maybe John can

Those are all good points.  We have anointed ourselves leaders of the free
world, and I think we have to expect a certain level of antagonism as a
result.  But I think also, meaning to or not, we do exacerbate the situation
at times, and the current attitude of "a la carte multinationalism" is one
of those times.
