yeah yer talking about the CDC and the military? but why wasit private
industry that was so upset? bush was all wanting to protect *business
interests*, more than the govt labs that have a legitmate reason to work
on counterweapons

there mayb e no way to tell defense from offense or legit from weapon.

After all, nobody *says* they re making offensive weapons. only defensive
ones.

even the russian program was not only labeld "defense" the people working
on it were convinced they were creating "defensive" weeapons because they
were raised in such a climate of paranoia that they truly believed the US
had cheated and not disarmed back in the 70s...

and it went on even after the ostensible collapse of the eastern bloc...
