Well, that's not quite true. There are three threads to the new Amiga
plan. Firstly there's Amithlon, which is a 68k Amiga emulator that runs
on a stripped-down version of Linux and runs AmigaOS 3.x. This will run
all Classic Amiga software that doesn't directly access the old AGA
chipset. Secondly, there's AmigaOS 4.x, which runs on PPC systems
(firstly on the new AmigaOne and then later on other systems). Thirdly,
there's AmigaDE, which is a system built on Tao Elate and which uses
JIT compilation to allow the same programme to run on a whole range of
platforms. AmigaDE will run native on small devices like mobile phones
and PDAs or can be hosted on other OSs like Linux or Windows.
Eventually, AmigaDE will be tightly integrated into AmigaOS, giving
rise to AmigaOS 5.0. The latest announcements regarding these products
