Remember pets.com?

Look at the .COMs - a gazillion small companies chomping at a multi-billion
dollar industry, and most of them went belly up because they had lousy
business plans. The ones that survived had something unique to offer or good
business plans.

The government doesn't have anything to do with it - before you blame the
evils of competition, blame the people crazy enough to invest in any old
madcap scheme without a long term plan, or those foolish enough to think
that companies with a vested interest won't try to compete as well.
