I still have about 2 dozen old traveller books. Pretty much all the
supplements, and lots of adventures. I always liked the Traveller
background but the rules were kind of funny.
Funny how?
Well, just about every character was a 50 year old retired naval
officer with 30 years of service. The character generation system
heavily favored getting really really really old characters, since you
got skills and characteristic bonuses for every year you stayed in
service. And there was really no penalty for running a 50 year old
character.
And of course representing a thousand light year imperium as a
two-dimensional plane was kind of funny....
