I've seen that film!!!

It's an Egyptian film about Richard Lionheart and Saladin. Late 60s or early
70s I think, it's been shown a couple of times here on SBS, our
multicultural TV network. About the only Egyptian film I've ever seen that
had no belly dancing moment.

Not surprisingly, the Crusaders were not shown terribly sympathetically, at
least, not in general.

Somehow, though, Richard Lionheart still seems to be seen as chivalric in
the Arab world, in the same way we see Saladin. Regardless of how bloody
they actually were.

Terry Jones' TV series "Crusade" actually does a very good job of pointing
out which combatants were the "goodies" and which were the bloodthirsty
savages.
