Sorry Alberto, but I was using cos = because (abbreviation), not the
mathematical thingummy. Which I'll bet you knew anyway ;-)

As for Ringworld, I just found it very amateurish. If I'd read it at about
12 or 14 I'd probably have loved it. (Please don't take that as critical or
a putdown of any adult who loved/loves the book, just my opinion) I tried
reading it after a few Brins, Bears and Baxters, and just found it very -
erm, Alistair MacLeanish... Maybe I was in the wrong sort of mindset?

As for Niven, Mote in God's Eye, Protector and A Gift from Earth are my
favourites, as well as his short stories - Draco's Tavern especially  but
also Flight of the Horse and so on. Actually, apart from the three novels, I
think Niven's short stories are his best work.
