Recently, Bob Zimmerman made a claim about me, based on his memory of this
list's past. He was proven wrong. I would think that this had taught you not
to make claims about people, based solely on your imperfect memory of this
list's past and posts you do not have a copy of -- especially when someone
who *does* have those old posts is also one of the people targeted.

It saddens me to see you did not learn... :-(

I took a dive into my archive, and resurfaced with this:

In a later post, Sonja mentioned an article in the UK newspaper "Sunday
Times" (published Nov. 16th, 1998, and apparently translated en reprinted
in a Dutch newspaper) as her source of information (after feeling offended
because people resorted to accusations of anti-semitism and Nazism, rather
than asking for the source of that information):

(I have snipped the Dutch text, and only quoted Sonja's translation.)

At 04:47 PM 11/25/1998 +0000, Sonja wrote:

So, Dan, as you can see, Sonja was not *insisting* that Israel was
developing a "race bomb". (And neither was I.) She informed us about
something she had read in a newspaper. The only thing that could have
reasonably been held against her is that she did not mention the actual
source in the first message.

Now, please refrain from making false claims about people, based on what you
remember of past discussions, if you do not have the actual posts to back
your claims. Thank you.

If you want to know if someone said <whatever> on-list, just ask me
off-list; I will be more than happy to do an archive search for you.

When someone writes Nazi propaganda, it is reasonable to assume that the
author supports Nazism. When someone writes pro-communist articles, it is
reasonable to assume that the author is a communist. When someone writes
"George W. Bush is a great president", it is reasonable to assume that the
author is a Republican.

By that same reasoning, when you call my writings anti-Semitic, it is
reasonable to assume you think I am an anti-Semite.
