Which reminds me - we have seen a lot of news footage of aid being distributed to Afghanis - though there is some vagueness about where this is happening (possibly camps on the Pakistan border?). The footage features bags of grain with USA and stars and stripes etc all over it. I wonder how the Taliban deals with this - do they repackage it all? Do they claim credit for somehow forcing the US to deliver aid? Surely the average Afghani is sufficiently literate to recognise USA all over their food (though I hasten to add I wouldn't recognise the "Afghanistan" printed on something in Pashtu or Dari) Anyone know if the message is getting through to the people of Afghanistan?
