On the same hand, I think the Oriole fans will boo anything that's has to do
with Boston or even New York. It's not as bad as when they played in
Memorial Stadium, but the bad fans still linger. (This is from a Yankees
fan). If the team was Tampa Bay or Toronto the reaction wouldn't have been
noticeable. The Oriole Way my ass.

Umm, when have you been to a ball game in Baltimore, exactly? I've been to
baseball games all over America, and Oriole fans are by far the best
behaved. I rather regret this, actually, as there are too many people
carrying cell phones instead of watching the game at Camden Yards. There
isn't even a vague equivalent to the "bleacher creatures" of Yankee Stadium
in Baltimore. Let's be realistic here - my two favorite teams are the
Orioles and the Red Sox. Red Sox fans have, in recent years, become so vile
that my friends who are parents often won't take their kids to the game.
That's been true in Yankee Stadium for a long time. ("Halle Berry! Halle
Berry!") It has _never_ been true in either Memorial Stadium or in Camden
Yards. I mean, this is common wisdom in baseball. _Peter Gammons_, for
goodness sake, has written comparing (very unfavorably) the behavior of fans
at Yankee Stadium and Fenway Park to those in Baltimore. Look up his
articles during the 1996 and 1997 playoffs.

Fenway Park, I should add, is in Boston. _Boston_ fans were upset with the
Boston Red Sox. So none of the above criticisms of Baltimore fans has any
relevance, anyways...
