Ahhhh! You mean ICE hockey!~

Hockey, of course, is a game played on a soccer-type pitch by teams wearing
shorts, shirts and boots. The goalie is pretty well padded, though, I'll
admit. Hockey is also a game played by many countries, most of Asia,
Australia, Britain (who, naturally lose), the Netherlands, Germany, India,
Pakistan, Argentina, etc.

One of my daughters plays hockey for her high school. No broken noses, yet.

Being at the game is much the better experience, as much for the
banter/cursing of the other fans around you. There's nothing quite like the
sound of tens of thousands of fans yelling BAALLLLLLLL!!!!! or the yells
when a goal is roosted from 50 metres out.

Whether in the outer at Kardinia Park, up in the Great Southern Stand at the
MCG, or level 4 at Colonial, the real life experience is better than the TV
version. Of course, if your team wins - Go Cats!! - and you happen to have
videotaped the game, then so much the better. Of course, in real football -
Aussie Rules - there's little time for extensive replays during the game.

Unfortunately, like all other Australians, I'm now in the position of having
to wait months before the footy starts again, whereupon - next year,
hopefully - Geelong will truly make it a year to remember.
