Ok, maybe a n-th level correlation, they conquered at one time or another Arabia, the Arabs conquered Iberia, and Portugal is part of Iberia O:-) >> I've never felt "cheated" in Geography, History or the Social Sciences because I attended American schools. My history curriculum through high school covered Europe and Africa over a period of about the last 3000 years, China over at least 3000 and Japan over 500 years. South and North America were reviewed over the last 300 and 500 years respectively. Native American folklore and history made up a portion of that in grade school, but that might be because I studied in Texas. By contrast, Indian history was only covered in its extension as a British colony up to the present day -- no more than about 150 years. Some topics were covered in depth, some not... but Americans *are* taught a great deal more than just American History these days. How much they retain in memory after they leave the classroom is another story.... Jon
