1) I have actually worked with low-wage workers, spending three years of
vacations at Wendy's.  

2) My Dad is a manager of gas-stations, and thus an employer of low-wage
workers.   As we hasve traveled around the country in the past on our
vacations, part of each trip was always spent looking at gas station
operations in the places that we visited.

I think that gives me about as much of a subset of experience as I could
reasonably hope for, short of writing my PhD thesis on the subject.

Then your analogy fails completely - since nobody actually believes the
above, I have no problem assuming it to be false.  I, on the other hand,
actually believe what I wrote - and don't particularly care whether you
believe me or not.
