> "God Angrily Clarifies 'Don't Kill' Rule"
Despite language that I don't imagine God would use (but who am I to know?)
I appreciated this one, especially the ending. For the last two weeks, as
my thoughts turn spiritual, I imagine that God has, indeed wept.
Cindy and I went to see the movie "Pearl Harbor" a few weeks ago, well
before the terrorist attacks. I was surprised at what I felt during the
attack scene -- just deep sadness that we humans do this sort of thing to
one another. The time for being angry at the Japanese is long over; the
time for being stimulated and distracted by war scenes is also over. To the
extent that we recognize that we are all part of one body, the pain we
inflict on ourselves surely is sad. As we inflict pain on the enemies of
freedom, I hope we remember that the whole wretched mess makes God sad.
