Well, we do have to give them the benefit of the doubt that while they
ARE using leftover Soviet tech that's a decade old, the Iraqis managed
to knock a number of our planes out of the sky.  I doubt its 6, but I'd
give them better odds than you that they have a chance at hitting
something; obviously we're worried about it, too, since we're going in
at night.

Historical examples of the targeting of civilians aside, I'd agree - but
what independant confirmation do we have access to that civilians AREN'T
being killed?  OF COURSE they're not targeted, but war is messy.

Further, what independant verification do we have that things are going
well?  Remember those smart bombs that were supposed to be so damn
accurate, but then it turned out that the CINC and the Pentagon were
knowingly lieing about how accurate they were during GW1?  They've
already told us bluntly that they're going to be lieing to us, and have
tried their damndest to intimidate anyone who speaks ill of them.
