Local governments try to keep neighbourhoods mixed and integrated. The mixing does not work perfectly, though. Many members of ethnic minorities tend to have a low income, either because they are unemployed or because their lack of education and command of the Dutch language lands them in low-income jobs. You cannot house someone with a minimum income in a high-rent house, so there is an unfortunate but unavoidable tendency of ethnic minorities being housed in some of the "lesser" neighbourhoods. >Do groups like America's Rainbow Coalition exist in the Netherlands I am not familiar with the Rainbow Coalition, so I cannot say with 100% certainty that a similar organisation exists here -- although it probably does. >If not, are they allowed by the Dutch government to exist? If people want to get organised, Dutch law certainly will not get in their way. Depending on the nature of the organisation, they might even get financial support. The only limit on this is that we do not allow organisations whose purpose it is to commit crimes. Even if such an organisation is not yet responsible for any crimes, membership of such an organisation is a crime. Now that Europe is making an effort in fighting organised crime, even *attempting* to join such an organisation is a crime.
