..oh, and let's not forget the healthy campaign contributions that the pro-Israel voting block gives each year to our political parties. >> </sarcasm/> Oh, yes, I'm quite sure that our greedy evil politicos are _really_ decrying the Palestinian's murders because the pro-Israel lobby is lining their pockets. It couldn't have anything to do with innocent Israeli civilians or even American civilians on vacation being killed in vicious suicide bomb attacks, or that the attacks themselves are inhuman and barbaric and stomach-turning. Not a thing. </sarcasm/> By extension, are you trying to tell us that if Al-Queda and Osama Bin Laden had tried to buy off our government all he would have had to do is offered us a few mil? Even better, suppose Al-Queda had been a strong lobbying political force in this country. You think they would have had any influence on elected political officials after 9/11? Those officials would have been lynched, drawn and quartered. I think the American majority has more political power and intelligence than you are willing to give them credit for. By example, look at Barbara Lee. She stood for a belief that most of America reviled her for. Something tells me her popularity sank like a stone after she did. A byproduct of your argument does have validity, though... in a direction you probably didn't intend. A pro-Israel voting block votes the candidate they want into office. No lobbyists.... they just vote a candidate into office who reflects the will of a voting majority. Substitute 'pro-choice' or 'anti-gun' for 'pro-Israel' and it happens every year in this country. Part of the democratic system. :) Jon
