It's probably gonne cost Afganistan 100 million dollars and app. 8 years to clean up most of the landmines left there by opposing groups, and the residue of unexploded American clusterbombs. They hope that this year they finally manage to clean up more mines then are planted so for the first time they might see some net decrease in mines. Only the far off mountainous regions will probably never ever be safe from mines. This is their inheritence from a quarter of a century of war. And not all of it was civilwar. Sonja
