I agree whole-heartedly with Doug.  But, then, I always advocate taking 
the moral high road whenever possible, if for no other reason than so 
that we can say "At least we're not like them!" and say it with some 
legitimacy.

The United States was founded upon a certain set of ideals and 
principles; and as I believe I've mentioned before, it is when our 
principles are put to the test that it becomes even more important that 
we demonstrate our willingness to stick to those principles and ideals.
